What If You Miss the Medicare Open Enrollment Deadline?

If you miss the Medicare open enrollment period, there may be other opportunities throughout the year to adjust your Medicare plan. For example, if you experience a disruption in your plan (like moving cross country or losing employer-sponsored coverage), you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period any time of the year. If you miss the deadline or are cutting it close and need help, Senior Insurance Solutions can walk you through the next steps.

Things to Consider During the Enrollment Period

If you already have Medicare and aren’t sure if you want to make any changes during the open enrollment period, there are some things to consider, including:

  • How satisfied you are with your doctors
  • If your current health plan works for you
  • If a Medicare Advantage plan would better meet your needs
  • If Medicare costs can cost you less than the standard premium

Even if you’re satisfied with your Medicare plan, it doesn’t hurt to review your opinions with a professional during the Medicare open enrollment period. With Senior Insurance Solutions, my services are completely free, so even if you don’t change your plan after speaking with me, you don’t have to worry about paying to get the valuable information you need to make an informed decision.
